Library

The library’s mission is to provide a well-resourced, inviting and inclusive environment which promotes a love of literature and effectively fosters the development of student information literacy skills.

Borrowing Limit

Each student is encouraged to borrow up to 2 books at a time from the library. This limit allows students to explore a variety of literature while also managing their borrowing responsibly.

Loan Duration

Books borrowed from the library can be kept for a period of 3 weeks. We kindly ask your assistance in reminding your child of this timeframe to ensure that books are returned promptly and made available to other students. This guarantees that your child can borrow other books. If students would like to keep one of their books after the 3 weeks, students have the option to renew their borrowing.

No Library Bags, No Borrowing

The library will be open for borrowing and returning three times a week during lunch times (Tue, Wed, Thur), along with student’s scheduled library lessons once a week. This aims to provide extra opportunities for students to access the library and select books that cater to their interests.

We kindly ask for your support in reinforcing these expectations with your child. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Premier’s Reading Challenge

All students are encouraged to participate in the Premier’s Reading Challenge. Notes are sent home with the students early in Term 1 and updates published regularly in the fortnightly school newsletter.

Many of the books listed can be borrowed from the William Dean Library. For full details, book lists and Challenge rules, visit the Premier’s Reading Challenge website.
